Iran’s consul general in the Syrian city of Aleppo, Salman Navvab Nouri, told IRNA that the cargo that arrived in the international airport in the city early on Wednesday contained some 20 metric tons of food and powdered milk.
Iran had previously sent three humanitarian planes to Damascus and as many to Latakia, while seven such planes have flown to Aleppo to deliver aid to quake-hit people in the region.
At least 5,840 people were killed and tens of thousands were injured in Syria in two deadly earthquakes that shook parts of the Arab country and neighboring Turkey in early February.
